February 2013 Employee of the Month

Erin Moore is has been working as a Speech Therapist with APT since early 2011.  We are so grateful for Erin to share her talents as part of our team!  In addition to helping children and their families she has dedicated herself as an APT mentor for our new hires and recently took on a full time student to further herself professionally.

Q. When did you decide you wanted to be a therapist?

A. In high school, I shadowed a SLP in a skilled nursing facility for career day and decided that is what I wanted to be when I grew up.

  

Q. Why did you choose speech therapy?

A. Helping someone learn to communicate, become a more proficient communicator, or regain the ability to communicate…what could be better?!

  

Q. How long have you been a therapist?

A. I’ve been a speech therapists for 5 years.

  

Q. What made you choose APT as your employer?

A. The diverse pediatric population, flexible work opportunities, and a great group of therapists to learn from.

  

Q. What is the best part of being a therapist?

A. When I’m with the kids, work does not feel like work. I look forward to seeing the progression of their communication, social, and feeding skills each week. I love forming relationships with my clients and their families.
