Can a Speech Therapist help you meet your breastfeeding goals?

Yes! Speech-Language Pathologists with a certification in lactation counseling (CLC) have the unique ability to assess the baby’s latch and oral motor skills needed for feeding. They are able to coach and teach you how to help your baby build the necessary skills for a successful latch. If needed, they are able to also provide information regarding breastfeeding help with community referrals (IBCLC, OT, PT & bodywork).
